The exhibition «This is (Not) Conceptual Art», which looks back at the history of conceptual art that led the transition of Korean contemporary art, will be held at MMCA Seoul. 🎨 This exhibition sheds light on conceptual-leaning art, which has focused on the artist's ideas, context, and questions themselves rather than physical results. Starting with the fundamental transition triggered by 'words' and linguistic thinking in art, it passes through four complex chapters: 'Language, Logic, and Action', 'Object and Language', 'Mapping and Measuring', and 'Manipulators of Symbols'. Going beyond simple historical reduction, encounter various attempts to newly contemplate human and the world within Korea's unique historical context. It opens up the possibility of thought that questions the essence of art once again in the flood of images. ✨
